Retention – a smile that lasts!
The active phase of your orthodontic treatment is done. Now comes the most important time for keeping your beautiful smile for years to come. Your teeth also deserve special attention now, so that you keep your dream smile.

Why is retention important?
Once the braces come off, the teeth need to be properly stabilised. The risk of the teeth moving back to their original position is highest in the first year after treatment ends.
Teeth can shift throughout your life. To be sure that nothing moves afterwards, a retainer (holding appliance) should also be used in the long term. Without retention, the teeth will definitely shift again.
What happens next?
We choose the best individual solution so that your teeth “remember” their correct position until they are firmly anchored in the jaw again. Various appliances can be used for this. Your orthodontist will pick the best one for you.
How often do I have to wear the retainer?
The first year after treatment is especially important for a lasting result. To ensure a beautiful, healthy smile in the long term, you’ll receive a personal plan from us setting out when and how often to wear your retainers.
