Off to school with a smile

A new school year is a good moment to start something that lasts a lifetime. Start now, and the most important part of the treatment is behind you before things get really serious. The consultation is free — and open to both routes: invisible or fixed.

Why now

The start of school is the right time

Misaligned teeth very rarely sort themselves out as children grow. The earlier they are spotted, the more options there are — and the simpler and shorter the treatment becomes.

Children who start when school begins get used to their braces in the first few weeks, while everyday life is settling into a new rhythm anyway. And children who are self-conscious about their teeth can laugh freely again — just when new friendships are being made.

  • Spot misalignments early — more treatment options
  • Getting used to braces fits into the new routine anyway
  • Laughing freely while new friendships are made
  • Check-ups only every 10 to 14 weeks — little time off school
  • Free consultation, appointments from Monday to Friday
Both are possible

Invisible or fixed — you decide

At the Eltz Institut, everything is possible: from free braces (Gratis Zahnspange) with nothing to pay to invisible aligner treatment. At the consultation, we’ll tell you honestly what makes sense medically — and you choose at your own pace.

Invisible braces (private)

  • Nobody in class can see the treatment
  • Suitable for every malocclusion — IOTN 1 to 5
  • Removable for eating and brushing teeth
  • No restrictions on sport, music and free time
  • No risk of injury from brackets
  • Interest-free instalments for parents

Free braces (covered by health insurance)

  • Free of charge — health insurance covers everything
  • For children and teens up to 18
  • Only for severe malocclusion: IOTN 4 and 5
  • Fixed braces with brackets
  • Visible in everyday life
  • Brushing teeth requires more care
Invisible aligners in everyday school life

Why children and parents love aligners

Invisible

The aligners are transparent and wafer-thin. Nobody in class notices that your child is having orthodontic treatment.

No restrictions

Sport, wind instrument, school trip: the aligners are simply taken out when needed. No risk of injury from metal in the mouth.

Normal speech

Presentations, reading aloud, drama club — pronunciation stays normal, with no period of getting used to wires and brackets.

Eating as usual

No foods are off limits at break time or snack time. The aligner comes out for eating and goes back in afterwards.

Easy oral hygiene

Brushing teeth works exactly as before. This significantly reduces the risk of tooth decay and gum problems during treatment.

Fewer appointments

Check-ups only every 10 to 14 weeks; with Dental Monitoring, up to 75% fewer visits to the practice. Fewer missed lessons, less organising for you.

Free & without obligation

One appointment, all the answers

You don’t need to decide or prepare anything beforehand. At the free consultation, we look at your child’s teeth, explain clearly what’s going on and show you all the routes — from free braces to invisible treatment.

A personal Treatment Coordinator accompanies you through the appointment and also answers the questions you might not ask a doctor straight away.

  • Free of charge and with no obligation whatsoever
  • Examination and determination of the IOTN grade
  • An honest recommendation — including the free option
  • Appointments from Monday to Friday
  • Just bring the e-card

Frequently asked questions

Braces and school

What parents most often want to know before the start of school — answered briefly and honestly.

A first orthodontic check-up already makes sense at primary school age, because jaw growth can still be guided during this time. Whether and when to treat is decided by the diagnosis — not by age alone. More about the right age

That’s exactly the biggest worry for many children. Invisible aligners are practically impossible to spot from the outside — the treatment goes unnoticed in class. How to deal with teasing

Very few. Check-ups are only needed every 10 to 14 weeks, and with Dental Monitoring there are even fewer. We offer appointments from Monday to Friday and try to find school-friendly times.

Not with invisible aligners — they can be taken out, and there’s no metal to hurt yourself on. With fixed braces, slight restrictions are possible depending on the sport and instrument. More on this

That depends on the diagnosis. For severe malocclusion (IOTN 4 or 5), health insurance covers the treatment in full up to 18 — that’s free braces. For all other cases and for the invisible option, there are interest-free instalments. We’ll tell you what applies to you at the free consultation.

We make a point of keeping enough consultation appointments free. The best thing is to book straight away online using the booking form on this page, or call us on 01 358 31 77.
