Information for parents

What should I cook so that my child has healthy teeth?

What we eat as children affects our health — and our teeth — for the rest of our lives. That’s why it is especially important for parents to pay attention not only to their children’s oral hygiene but also to their diet.

Recipes for children should contain the most important staple foods. Dishes should be simple but still fresh. If the meals change often, eating stays both healthy and interesting. Vegetables and fruit should come first.

Recipe

Vegetable spaghetti

Not only healthy — children love them too!

Ingredients: (serves 4)

  • 2 onions
  • 2 courgettes
  • 3 carrots
  • 2 peppers
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 1 dash of whipping cream
  • 1 pack of passata (sieved tomatoes)
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
  • 1 bunch of basil, chopped
  • 400 g spaghetti
  • 1 litre of salted water

Method

Peel the onions and cut them into small cubes. Peel and grate the courgettes and carrots. Wash the peppers, remove the cores and cut them into cubes.

Sweat the onions in hot oil in a large frying pan. Add the vegetables, season with salt and braise until soft.

Deglaze the vegetables with a dash of cream and pour in the passata. Leave to simmer over a medium heat for approx. 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in a large pot of salted water for approx. 7 minutes. Drain the pasta and stir it into the vegetables.

Season everything once more with salt and pepper and sprinkle with fresh basil.

Have fun cooking & enjoy your meal!
